We know people love organic products. We love them too! When shopping for groceries we try to get organic produce when available. So what about Authenticity50 sheets, are they organic? The short answer is no, they're not organic. Below is our reasoning on why they're not organic.
More expensive - lower quality. Our sheets are made of the finest California-grown 100% certified Supima® cotton - less than 3% of cotton grown in America meets the quality standards to be labeled Supima®. If we made our sheets out of organic cotton we'd have to raise prices by $50-100 per sheet set, and they'd be lower quality. They wouldn't last as long, wouldn't have the great feel and would be more likely to fall apart with repeated washing.
Fair Wages. We focus on making the highest quality product we can with a skilled, fairly paid local workforce who make good wages. Compared to workers in India who often make $5/day in horrible working conditions and the large carbon footprint associated with shipping products on containers overseas, our model is definitely better for workers and the environment.
We appreciate organic products and realize this is a nuanced discussion surrounding GMO's and companies that sell seeds - and we've done our best to make Authenticity50 as fair to everyone involved with our product as possible, from our manufacturing partners and their employees to the environment and you.
